Welcome to the first of our monthly newsletters.
It’s been a busy fall at Pierreclos Imports. We split the 2017 harvest season between Domaine Coteaux des Margots in Burgundy and California, and we’re excited to have Paul’s parents Veronique and Jean Luc on board with our project. The wines we helped make this year are the same ones we’re bringing you in 2016 vintage. We also reached out to some other friends who have wineries making great wines including Charles Drouin’s Domaine Thierry Drouin and Antoine Roux’s Domaine des Freres Roux.
Our first shipment of Macon-Villages Chardonnay and Macon-Pierreclos Gamay was picked up in Pierreclos shortly after we got back to California. While the wine was in transit we ran around getting ready for parties, settling on our logo and imagining everything that could go wrong. Finally, on December 4th, our shipment arrived safely in San Francisco.
We want to thank Rachel Hallock and Aimee Reedy for hosting our kickoff tasting parties where we first introduced our wines in California. Both events were a huge success, thanks to everyone who showed up to try our wines. We’re happy to have spent time with you all and we hope you’ll follow us as we grow and expand our portfolio.
We are also proud to let you know that you can now find our Macon-Villages in a restaurant, Juanita and Maude, in Albany! Thanks to Ariane, Scott and Nick for believing in us. The food is great, you should go and ask for the Coteaux des Margots!
For the moment Paul is headed back to France with a mission, to find more wines to offer you. We’re hoping to add some offerings from CdM, and also to bring a Pouilly-Fuisse from Charles, a syrah from Antoine, and some sparkling Cremant and Rose from burgundy for spring. Look to find us in more restaurants and wine shops in the near future. In the meantime keep an eye on our website and follow us on Facebook andInstagram.
